This piece is considered a "second" because after the firing a crack appeared in the bottom of the mug. This doesn't effect its functionality as it still holds water and does not leak. It is only a cosmetic defect. See pictures to see defect.

Handmade ceramic mug. Fired in an electric kiln to 2,345 F (cone 10).
